It started with a couple of frustrated dads, driving around town in search of elusive pink shirts for their kids.

Jason Thomson and Jeff Bellamy struck out in their search to support February’s Pink Shirt Day. But the journey generated a big idea – why not create one for schools across Canada?

Which is exactly what the creative professionals did. Buyllying Stops Here t-shirts were available in time for last year’s day of celebration. More than 2000 kids, administrators and teachers were decked out in the custom design – in both English and French.

“It was really important for us to be able to help families across Canada to represent such an important day,” explains Bellamy. “The kids love it, the teachers love it, and the schools really love it.”

Part of the reason schools love it so much? Bullying Stops Here puts a portion of sales into the hands of each school that participates. Last year, the team raised more than $6000 at more than 150 schools. 

This year’s program expands beyond the pink T-shirt to include writstbands and colourful arm sleeves. “Schools are asking us for new and creative approaches to celebrate and support Pink T-Shirt day,” adds Thomson. “We can’t wait to show off what’s next!”
